How long sealants protect with proper care
Why Sealants Work
Back teeth have deep grooves that trap food and bacteria. Sealants create a smooth, protective surface that's easy to keep clean.
Molar Protection
Sealants fill the deep grooves and pits on back teeth where bacteria love to hide and brushing can't fully reach.
Painless Application
No needles, no drilling. We clean the tooth, apply the sealant liquid, and cure it with a light in seconds.
BPA-Free Material
We use BPA-free resin sealants that are safe, biocompatible, and proven effective by decades of clinical research.
Invisible Finish
Sealants are clear or tooth-colored, so no one will know they're there. Your smile looks completely natural.
Checked at Cleanings
We inspect sealants at every visit and can touch up any areas that show wear, extending their protection.
Adults Too
Sealants aren't just for kids. Any adult with deep grooves and no existing fillings on a molar can benefit.
How Sealants Are Applied
The tooth is cleaned and dried thoroughly to ensure a strong bond.
A mild etching solution is applied for a few seconds to help the sealant grip the enamel, then rinsed and dried.
The liquid sealant is painted into the grooves and pits of the tooth.
A curing light hardens the sealant in about 20 seconds. You can eat and drink right away.
The ADA and CDC recommend sealants for children as soon as their permanent molars come in, typically around ages 6 and 12. Ask Dr. Kaur if sealants are right for your family.
