I wanted to know if you’ve looked at the product Luster Premium Home Tooth Whitening. Is it safe? Will it whiten my teeth?
Penny
Dear Penny,
I’m really glad you wrote. I get requests like these a lot and some have been legitimate. Unfortunately, this one is not. First, the whitening light is bogus. That is already a red flag. Why have a product that does not really do anything? Though, I have seen companies with bogus lights that actually have a legitimate whitening ingredient. My guess is they used the light as a way to distinguish themselves from other similar products and companies.
This company does not even have a legitimate whitening ingredient. Looking at their product it seems like the only color change is from the zinc oxide in their product. That is not a whitener in the traditional sense, but rather a pigment that just “colors” the teeth whiter. Eventually, it will wear off. If they have any positive reviews, it will be from people who noticed the pigment change and thought that meant their teeth were whitened.
If you really want your teeth whitened safely and effectively, I would go through a dentist and have professional teeth whitening done. You can do it quickly, with Zoom Whitening, or gradually with take home teeth whitening trays. Zoom will whiten your teeth in just one appointment, but you don’t have much control over the color. They will be really white. Take home lets you control how white your teeth get.
